Kids at Academy School Make the NYE Ball for the Town's Party and Ball Drop

BRATTLEBORO — The Last Night Events Planning Committee is gearing up to offer a NYC-style ball drop to ring in the new year this weekend. The Ball Drop will commence around 8 p.m. on New Year’s Eve at the conclusion of a Family Style Contra Dance.
"Children at Academy School decorated the ball that will drop on New Year's Eve with the help of their art teacher, Alix Joyal. "We have such an amazing group of young artists here at Academy School and they were so honored to be able to decorate the New Year's Eve ball for the Brattleboro celebration,” said Joyal. “We are so grateful for being part of such a supportive community here at Academy School and we all love Brattleboro!"
Kelly Dias, the school principal explained the school’s involvement. "We are honored to have Academy School students help create the symbol of the New Year. Our art teacher, Alix Joyal, has instilled a love of art in all of our students, and they are learning that it is not only fun to make, but also impactful for the community!”
